Useful Information
Who is therapy for?
Therapy is for anyone seeking support or wanting to get to know themselves better. This may be out of desperation during a time of crisis or it may be because you are hoping to enhance a particular aspect of your life. Currently, I work with adults of all ages, backgrounds, orientations and neurotypes.
What should I expect?
To begin I would suggest we find a time to meet for a free consultation which should give you an idea of what to expect. Finding the right therapist can take some searching, so this first meeting is a chance for us both to get a sense of what working together might be like and decide if we're an appropriate fit. Usually, I like to get to know a bit about who you are, what has caused you to seek therapy, and what you'd ideally like to get out of it.
How much does it cost?
After our initial consultation, my standard rate for a 50 minute session is £70. There is no fee for our first meeting.
Do you offer low fee therapy or have discounts?
My fee is negotiable and I offer subsidised slots depending on individual needs and circumstances. Subsidised sessions start from £35. If you're unable to afford the full fee I don't ask for proof, I just ask you to choose a rate within this range that would be more sustainable for you.
How can I contact you?
For any further questions or to book a free consultation, you can email me at ruth-anne@adriftpsychotherapy.com or go to the contact page.
What happens next?
If we decide to continue working together we will set a weekly appointment time and go from there! As therapy is highly individual, exactly what that looks like will depend on who you are and what you need, though will generally involve you taking the lead and speaking about whatever feels right moment to moment and session to session.

Where is your clinic?
Adrift Psychotherapy is online! I typically use Zoom to host meetings, though would be happy to meet on an alternative platform if you preferred.
